When you hear a faint beeping sound from your SmartTag unit each time you use it, it means the battery is weak and is in need of a change.
You could change it at any administration office located at highway tolls, or you can just do it yourself. We tried to change it at 3 different offices only to get frustration upon frustration. It's either the office is not open (on a working day, go figure) or everyone's gone out for lunch (they obviously do not expect customers during lunch time) or they said they don't have the expertise to change battery (most stupid excuse ever, you'll know what I mean when you finish reading this post).
The cost to us? RM9.90 for the battery. I wasted more on toll going to these offices. Not to mention the time too.

This is how you do it.
1) See this on the back of your unit? Twist it open with a coin anti-clockwise.

2) See the battery? Change it.

Close it back & check unit to see if it's working.
Done.
No expertise my ass.
